how can I restart the Thinkpad 600 - the Password ist lost.

Urk. There are two different passwords with the 600,
the system password and the hard drive password.

If you've managed to forget the hard drive password,
you have a real problem now, its VERY secure, it
uses the formal ATA standard and thats designed
to secure the data even if the laptop is stolen etc.

Not impossible to get access to the drive, but
not just a simple jumper on the motherboard etc.
